More Verses: Jesus Promises

In the following scripture, Jesus reveals astounding realities of what will occur when we remain in His love and obey His commands.  He is lifting us to the supernatural realities of His promises to us who believe, remain in His love, and obey His command to love one another as He loves us.

These promises seem unreal or beyond what we could experience in actuality.  But what He speaks is truth.  Remaining in His love, loving as He loves, we also remain in His will.  We will live His truths given us, bequeathed, now and for ever.  Remain in His love, in Christ, in every present moment!

John 16:12-15  'But when he comes, the Spirit of truth, he will guide you to all truth. He will not speak on his own, but he will speak what he hears, and will declare to you the things that are coming. He will glorify me, because he will take from what is mine and declare it to you. Everything that the Father has is mine; for this reason I told you that he will take from what is mine and declare it to you.'

Jesus promises the holy Spirit of truth who will guide us to actual truth.  He adds the grace of prophetic understanding, that which is coming.  The Holy Spirit glorifies Jesus by repeating what the Father and the Son desire for us to know.  What is to be declared to us?  Is it the truth of God's love and will?

John 16:22-24  'So you also are now in anguish. But I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you. On that day you will not question me about anything. Amen, amen, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in my name he will give you. Until now you have not asked anything in my name; ask and you will receive so that your joy may be complete.

Yes we are now in distress due to our physical straits living in this world of challenges, some temporal but also the spiritual challenge of faith, of belief, of  understanding Christ's love.  But Jesus promises again that we will see Him again!  Yes, as in when we remain in His love, for it is in His love we see His glory, participate in His joy that becomes our joy.

We need not ask questions when we remain in His love because His love is all answers.  His love is His will and His will is His love.  Remaining in His love, we remain in His will, and whatever could be asked from within His love and will, is given us.  His name is love. What is given us?  His love and His will!  This is fullness of joy, to be in Christ's love and His will, now and forever!

John 16:30-33  Jesus answered them, 'Do you believe now? Behold, the hour is coming and has arrived when each of you will be scattered to his own home and you will leave me alone. But I am not alone, because the Father is with me. I have told you this so that you might have peace in me. In the world you will have trouble, but take courage, I have conquered the world.'

Well, do we believe now?  Jesus speaks not only to His disciples then, when He walked the earth, but He speaks to us now in the present moments of our bodies and souls.  Temporally we are physically and mentally scattered amidst daily work, study, and recreation.  We are temporally and even spiritually distracted if we sway in our human wills and depart from remaining in His love.  For His love is His will...and His truth, and His truth is His will and His love.

But no matter our scattered bodies and wills, Christ and the Father are infinitely one in the loving holy Spirit of truth.  Jesus repeats that we can have peace in Him. Remaining in the world begets troubles.

Remain in Him!  Remain in His love! Jesus' love has conquered the world.  If we remain in His love, we love. His love gives us courage to live.  In His love is His will and His truth.  The troubles of this life pass away, are vanquished.
